I have been a Consultant in Brighton Major Trauma Emergency Department on the South Coast of the UK for 10 years. I work part time for the Kent Surrey and Sussex Air Ambulance Service as a doctor.
I was a Training Program Director for junior doctors in Emergency Medicine for 5 years and am keen to assist Emergency Physicians in other countries reach their full potential within their own health systems.
I work for two to three weeks a year for the HALO Trust which is a volunteer organization taking land-mines out of the ground in conflict countries, where I teach pre-hospital trauma care and get to meet some great people.
I am an examiner for the MCEM and FCEM exams for junior doctors and consultants and have a keen interest in teaching simulation which I think is the best way of training doctors to handle difficult situations effectively.
We have had Dutch trainees in my Department for three or four years which has been an excellent way to meet and train overseas doctors and I am keen to maintain and extend these links.Country: United Kingdom
